In Historic Downtown Ely

Potluck Kitchenware is located in one of the many historic commercial buildings of Downtown Ely. Commonly known as the James Drug building, our current location housed one of the longest continuously operational businesses in Ely. James Drug opened in 1888 and was a cornerstone business of Chapman Street for over 100 years. Though James Drug closed in the late 1990s, the building found new life after a comprehensive renovation by Alley A Realty. We're honored to reside in such a historic Ely storefront.

Puddle Jumper Park

Potluck Kitchenware is located next to Puddle Jumper Park, a small downtown greenspace that's BIG on fun. This park features a float plane play structure, grassy play area, benches and picnic tables, elevated performance stage, and vibrant Ely, Minnesota mural perfect for group photos.

  • Yes, there is on-street parking adjacent to the store on both Chapman Street and 1st Avenue North.

  • Free parking is available in Downtown Ely, with a two-hour time limit enforced May-September.

  • Yes, the eastern storefront door of Potluck Kitchenware is a no-step entrance.

  • Unfortunately, we do not have a public restroom. However, public restrooms are available nearby at Ely City Hall (209 E Chapman Street) and the Ely Public Library (224 E Chapman Street).

  • Yes, leashed and well-attended pets are welcome in our store.

  • We are located in the heart of the historic commercial district of Downtown Ely. Most of Ely's unique retail and dining businesses are located within 2-3 blocks of Potluck Kitchenware.
